Frame UI beta terms

These terms apply when you are given access to a Frame UI beta build. By downloading, installing or using a beta build after receiving access, you agree to these terms. Joining the waitlist alone does not guarantee access or create an obligation to provide a build on a particular date.

Last updated: 20 September 2026

1. Eligibility

The Frame UI public beta is for people aged 18 or over. By joining the public beta waitlist, and again by downloading, installing or using a beta build, you confirm that you are at least 18.

Frame UI does not ask for your date of birth as part of the waitlist. We record only your confirmation that you meet the 18+ eligibility requirement.

2. About the beta

Frame UI is pre-release software in active development. Beta builds may be incomplete, contain bugs, change without notice or behave differently across PCs, games, controllers and third-party services.

The currently targeted first public beta date is 10 October 2026. This is a development target rather than a guaranteed release date.

3. Your beta licence

If you receive a beta build, you are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and use that build for personal testing and evaluation, subject to these terms.

You must not sell, sublicense, redistribute or misrepresent a beta build as your own product, except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that cannot lawfully be restricted.

4. Backups and testing risk

Because beta software can fail, you should keep appropriate backups of important files and avoid relying on a beta build for any critical function. You remain responsible for your own Windows installation, accounts, subscriptions, third-party applications and data.

5. Third-party platforms and services

Frame UI may integrate with or launch third-party games, applications and services. Those products remain subject to their own terms, accounts, subscriptions, licences and availability. Frame UI does not provide or include third-party subscriptions unless expressly stated.

Frame UI is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise associated with Microsoft Corporation, Valve Corporation or Epic Games, Inc. Windows, Xbox, Steam, Epic Games and related names and marks belong to their respective owners.

6. Controllers and hardware

Compatibility can vary by controller, Windows configuration and connection method. Additional hardware may be required for some wireless controller connections.

7. First 100 beta-user release entitlement

The first 100 people whose public-beta participation is confirmed by Frame UI will receive a licence for the first full public release of Frame UI free of charge. Joining the waitlist by itself does not count as beta participation.

Frame UI will use the email address associated with beta access to identify qualifying participants and will confirm qualifying status by email. This entitlement is personal to the qualifying beta participant, is not transferable for cash or resale and does not include third-party subscriptions, third-party software or hardware.

8. Feedback

If you choose to send suggestions, bug reports or other feedback, you give Frame UI permission to use that feedback to develop, improve and commercialise Frame UI without an obligation to pay you. You keep ownership of any copyright you already own in material you submit.

9. Updates and changes

Beta builds may update automatically or require replacement with a newer build. Features may be added, removed or changed during development. Access to a particular beta build may be ended when it is obsolete, unsafe or no longer supported.

10. Privacy

Personal data connected with the website, waitlist and beta communications is handled as described in the Privacy notice. Any additional telemetry, crash reporting or account-linked processing introduced in a beta build will be described before or when that processing is enabled.

11. Availability and support

The beta is provided for testing and evaluation. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or a particular support response time. We will nevertheless aim to investigate useful bug reports and compatibility feedback.

12. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes applicable statutory consumer rights and, where relevant, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and liability for damage to a device or other digital content where the law does not permit that liability to be excluded.

Subject to those protections, the beta is free pre-release software supplied for testing and evaluation. It may contain defects and Frame UI does not promise that every beta build will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every PC, game, controller or third-party service. Any liability will be determined in accordance with applicable law.

13. Ending beta access

You can stop using the beta at any time. Beta access may also be withdrawn where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance or the orderly development of Frame UI.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you in your place of residence.
